The Praclarush, a hollow belly cargo ship, in orbit around Neptune.

The design is meant to be highly functional, large cargo space, high visibility for the bridge, powerful thrusters, and lower engines to control hovering and orbit. With these design goals defined, the ship takes a strong, grounded shape.

The volumetric lighting in Eevee really shines here. A bit of atmosphere adds nice depth and grabs the eye.

Greebles are placed to be used by the crew, each ladder and platform lets the crew do essential tasks like cleaning the insignia.

The entire scene is built to scale, these crew members can climb every ladder, and Stan din every room comfortably!

The Praclarush in a Neptune Sunset.

I put emphasis on surface detail over texture detail. Using a handful of triplanar materials I could build a layer look with greebles and by cutting into the hull.

Designing a full sized cargo ship using a new layering techniques. I used a combination of triplanar mapping, booleans, and a selection of Greebles to create a worn, grounded design.
The ship is rendered in realtime, with volumetric lighting in Blender’s Eevee render engine. Some mild post prossesign for lease flares and distortion done in Blender’s compositor.
Textures are modified form BlenderKit’s library, and the planet is from Nasa’s amazing library of images.
