The saber in full detail.

The saber glows in the face of advancing imperial forces.

Luke’s saber hilt, screen accurate down to the oil and dirt on the handle.

A peaceful town in the outer rim.

The saber evaporates the ground water as it slices through the mud and muck.

The courtyard is deserted before the oncoming fight.

Tie fighters soar overhead as walkers approach.

The saber has carved a glowing molten trail through the iron rich swamp muck

The village will never be the same.

The approach to the small village.
A scene from the end of 2019, created while waiting for friends in Mandalorian S1 remote watch parties.
This was on of the most technically heavy scenes I have created, surpassed only by the work I did on the Stargate RPG in 2020. To bring this scene to life I used all the techniques in my toolbox:
- HD prop modelling and texturing
- Volumetric simulations & paticle behaviour
- Vehicle modelling
- Weight face normal and triplanar detail modelling
- Splat Shaders
- Dynamic Boolean
- Render Optimization
- Terrain Stamping
- Atmospheric Simulation
- Generative texturing
Roles: All work (Texturing, Modelling, Lighting, Shading, Framing, Look Dev, Reference, Animation) was done by myself, with some background materials provided by BlenderKit.
The lightsaber uses my own Screen Accurate RoTJ Hilt modelled and textured based on screenshots and behind the scenes photography.
Rendered in Eevee. Trees grown in The Grove 3D. Textures painted in Substance paitner. Auto colour corrected in Affinity Photo. Made in Blender 3D.
