Spirit Of Christmas is a point and click mystery horror game. Engross yourself in 3D paintings and hunt for clues about the mysterious Spirit.
This game was made by a fantastic team of developers:
- Saahil Dhar
- Jonathan Farrell
My role on the game was to fold: Developing and implementing the unique ‘paintings with depth’ art-style; and Making and texturing the 3D assets to match the 2D matt paintings from Saahil Dhar.
For the art-style we camera mapped hand painted matte painting onto geometry. We used a point light with a normal offset script as the cursor, this created a really dramatic and dynamic lighting for the entire game.
For the 3D Assets, I took the key objects that Jonathan had written into the story, the art painted by Saahil, and modelled them in Blender. I then textured them in Substance Painter to provide nice specular lighting, and plenty of detail in the focused view.
